Can you tell if your feather duster worm is reproducing? I read it can happen sexually and asexually. So sexually the sperm and egg get released into the water…can you see them? And how do they start forming into a new worm? I also read that they do a “dance” when they are trying to reproduce. What is that?

And asexually; does the new feather duster start growing from the foot?

Also does it matter if my feather dusters are close together in my reef tank?

doesn't matter if they are close together, they don't mind be crowded. I'm not sure the specifics of the reproduction, but I do know that I've never purchased a feather duster, got a small few as hitchikers, and now I have easily near a hundred, so they certainly reproduce one way or another given ideal conditions.
