Hewbie has started to go to the corner of the bin and sit there waiting for food lol! He’s so cute and he bobbles up and down/shoots water at me begging for his dinner. He just enjoyed a nice big jumbo scallop and he’s happy. Tomorrow I’m going to Home Depot to get the wood to finish his stand. And his tank gets delivered. Woohoo!

Dang! I don't even get jumbo scallops! Lucky fish!
Oh yes he is! But also this was from a frozen seafood mix lol! He also enjoys live crabs, ghost shrimp, and live crawfish when he is really spoiled. Usually he eats clams on the half shell and frozen shrimp.

Haha! We supplement our corgis food with some salmon and beef every night. We always make the joke our dog eats better than us.
I work in a seafood department and I used to have this customer that would buy salmon for his cats and grill it every week.

Looking good! I hope he doesn’t go carpet surfing tonight. Hopefully I didn’t jinx it!
Oh he never has and knows his boundaries there’s been plenty of times his tank/what he’s been living in has been uncovered. He is smarter than that lol.

Ya we were having trouble whith hre coat always shedding and scratching. We did some research and switched up her dry food she has access to that all day. We also started feeding her nightly salmon/tuna and what ever beef is cheap that week. After a month on that no more shedding or scratching she stopped eating so much dry food and her weight is spot on ( corgis tend to over eat if allowed) . We've been doing it it a few years now and couldn't be happier.

Yup! I believe the same thing can easily be applied to any dry food for cats, dogs, and a lot of dry fish foods. To me it’s the equivalent of living off a diet of junk food all the time.

Couldn't agree more.
Something else I find interesting is when people feed their fish cooked seafood for example cooked shrimp or you can buy cooked clam meat at the store. Anything a fish eats should be raw not cooked. I think this is something not enough people pay attention to because some items in a seafood section are only ever sold cooked and you can’t get them raw at least near me since I don’t live near the ocean.

Yep, animals don't have stoves best to feed raw so you dont cook out all the good stuff.
Eta: obviously if it smells fishy or off we don't feed it.

And I only ever feed raw wild caught seafood/shrimp or frozen fish food specifically made for fish. Farmed and wild shrimp are two completely different species/kinds and farmed isn’t the best for our fish due to the fact that some are freshwater shrimp and what they feed them. I know a ridiculous amount about fish/seafood both the human side of it and keeping them as pets lol. So this has an impact on my decisions lol. But I try to think would Hewbie naturally eat this/have access to this in the wild lol? Besides the occasional crawfish my answer is always yes!
