Feed up with Nero pumps!!

Just venting here but I’m so fed up with the longevity of Nero pumps. I’ve spent a lot of money on these stupid pumps over the years to just keep on having the motors go bad. I have 4 Nero 5 with bad motors and one 3 with a bad motor. Last time I priced a new motor it was $100. If I’m going to spend that much I might as well buy a jabeo pump under the assumption it will not last any longer then these Nero’s. I like the Nero design and control ability but the longevity of the motors suck.

They are subpar and likely equal to jebao pumps in terms of quality. The price justification comes the app ability and customer support.

I've been using jebao products since starting and have not had a single failure.

Buy the jebao pumps........I've got a couple of them and one is at least 4 years old.

I had a Nero of similar size and the wiring went bad.

I don't even think the price is remotely justified by the apps and customer service. My most recent interaction with AI was a thoughtless "oh just send it in and we'll repair it for $170" when I described the issues I was having with my light. After the email exchange, googled the same issues and found a thread here on reef2reef saying it was likely a power supply issue. Replaced the power supply for 20 bucks and light worked like new. If you look hard enough, which isn't hard at all, all the aperture brands have serious quality and customer service issues across the board.

I recently purchased the vortech clones as well, and I think I'm going to grab the nero clone soon as well seeing as how my nero sounds like a small airplane. It is by far the loudest thing with my tanks. Jebao/Jecod pumps are far better in reality and in reputation than when I joined the hobby so that's the route I am going from now on.

I got one for 100$ for ya. Only used for 2 months

I gave up on mine. I had 4, 2 just died and the latest one the board went. Got offered a a new board (paid for). Saved the money and ordered the jecod DMP40s for not much more then a new controller board.

I've never used Nero, but have had excellent success with Hygger. They're DC pumps and are extremely quiet. My main pump used to return water to the tank has been running constantly for 3 years now and still working like a dream.

Amazon power supply, just check the specs to make sure they match output. May need adapters as well. I replaced my light power supply for around 30 bucks.
