I was wondering...

When I have a LPS that lives in a colony, IE: branching Lobophyllia, sun coral or even my acans, does every head need to eat or if just a few get fed, it feeds the whole colony? I'm thinking--BORG.

I think i read somewhere that you have to feed sun corals polyps individually.

Since you can frag the corals you mentioned into individual pieces doesn't it seem logical that (once the polyps divide completely) the polyp becomes in effect a new animal with its own feeding requirements? Anyway, without a connection between the "flesh" of the different polyps there would be no way for nutrients to effectively pass between all the polyps. Feed all the polyps for the best growth.
