Feeding Reef Roids

Quick question. when I target feed my corals reef roids my 2 hammer corals, frogspawn, montipora setosa and purple plating montipora all seem to secrete something into the water. it almost looks clear but stringy. Does anybody know what that is and is it ok?

I call it rejection in my tank. Usually happens with the abundance of small particulate foods.
Maybe try less or a larger particulate food.

this happens to me too. from my research I've found that it's rare in nature, but common in aquariums. it's not completely understood, but overall seems to be harmless. most think it is some type of feeding mechanism. the corals will get all tangled up in each other but that seems to not matter. however, I run carbon 24/7 so if they are contaminating the water when they do this, I may not know it.

I thought reef roids was good for target feeding. If they are indeed rejecting it what do I feed these guys? I hear so much people saying the benefits to target feeding their corals. I guess mine just aren't hungry

I tried reef roids, only corals that actually ate it were my duncans. I do not target feed anymore, they get leftover LRS food and whatever else is in the water.

+1000 my hammer NEVER eats reef roids but my acans cant get enough. Ive noticed that clear mucus too, its just telling you it doesnt want to eat it :)

I dont feed my hammer and in the past 3 months he has grown from a baseball size to a softball size-nitrates in my tank range from 10-15.
I only target feed my acans, maybe the palys in the frag tank if Im feeling saucy.

I feed everything in my tank LRS reef frenzy. Broadcast feed and turn the pump off for 5 minutes. The fish eat the big chunks and the corals eat the rest.
You can see the polyps and feeders on my acropora and chalices extending really quick when LRS is in the tank. The fish go into a Frenzy!

I only feed that once in a while...my mystery wrasse wont eat it for some reason lol he likes cyclopeeze better. guess hes just picky lol
