I've got a few mollies in the tank with my mantis and noticed she's begun to love the ocean nutrition prime reef flakes I feed the mollies. Will dart out of cave and snatch them from the top of the water, or run around the tank chasing after them as they sink, actually hilarious to watch.

I've also seen her scavenging for the pellets I sometimes feed the mollies.

Other than this I feed her cockles on the shell, mysis shrimp and occasionally live marine glass shrimp.

Wondering if anyone else has had any similar experiences? Any thoughts on the healthiness of this for the shrimp? The ocean nutrition food seems to be high quality ingredients (in order the first ones are krill, fish fillets, squid, algae, clams...)

Mollies will eat most any food and algae

I know ghost shrimp (A.K.A. Glass or Grass shrimp) are highly nutritious. Looking at the Ocean Nutrition flakes, they seem pretty good on ingredients and protein and fat content. Mysis are a great source of protein, and things like cockles, clams, etc. are pretty much always a good food to use.

I’m not a mantis shrimp (or any marine inhabitant) dietary specialist, but it looks like a pretty good mix to me. Plus, the scavenging around the tank sounds like good exercise and mental stimulation to me, so I’d assume this would be beneficial for the mantis.

Mantis Shrimp are opportunistic feeders, if they smell something new enter the water they'll start looking for it and grabbing whatever source its from. Most pellets are made from eggs, shrimp, fish, etc, with some algae maybe, pretty much no different from it catching any algae eater in the ocean, all familiar scents.

Theoretically they could eat pellets but I have no clue if those could sustain a mantis alone, I always viewed processed = bad for long term health for most things.
