FFM hoopla reminders.....

I don't get it! Every year I have been in this hobby there has ALWAYS been a lot of excitement on this forum leading up to the Farmers Frag Market(FFM)with many post(with date and times etc...) Not this year. Last official post was December 23, 2024 on the CTARS Facebook page. Two days before Christmas and who is thinking of FFM two days before Christmas???
So, I missed it because I had made prior commitments not knowing this weekend was the FFM.
Just a little ticked off here. This forum is really dead. The Facebook page is no better. I don't get it.

Yeah, I'll echo the sentiment. I came back after an 8-year hiatus from the hobby and it's basically a ghost town in CT. I have to think people still have tanks though - there are fish stores in business in the area! and the FFM was awesome. I hope people are doing alright.

This form is pretty much dead for the club. Just not a lot of activity here for the at least the last 5 years. Unfortunately Facebook sucks as a home for a reef club. A post will last two or three days and then it's drops to the bottom and disappears.

Unfortunately this and Facebook are it. It would be great if we could get our spot here on reef2reef going again but it requires people to post and comment on posts and thats just not happening. Facebook has more activity but still not a lot. For this club to be more than what it is people need to interact and get to know each other

Why not move here from Facebook? @Dburr1014, @keefer_the_reefer what does Facebook provide that can't be done here? I have to think a forum is a much better form for club member interactions than facebook is.

The club has tried to get people back onto this site but it's been a challenge to generate activity. Although Facebook doesn't work for running a club, it is ubiquitous and much easier for people to find the club there.

Maybe we're just getting too old and the new kids don't what to deal with forums :)

Oh man, you're right, I should have been all over that posting posts about FFM. I know John Swanson in the past has posted here and in our Facebook page.

I will tell you, I have tried to get people to come here for the past couple years. It's been a very big challenge with Facebook. Everybody floods to social media and the club form here kind of went by the wayside. I used to post every now and again here but most of the time it was days or weeks before somebody commented so I've been slacking coming back on here.

Now that I know people want this form back alive I will come back here daily and check. I am real sorry you missed FFM. This was probably the most vendors they had and to be honest, I didn't see all of them.
