The tank arrived in excellent shape. Nicely packed and no damage. This was delivered before we decided to move, of course.

Long story short, we got the tank into our new home. The big bonus is that this backs up to the unfinished part of our basement, so no sump under the tank.

Aquascaping time! Ocean Direct sand and Real Reef Rock. I went with their 55 lb box of mixed sizes.

Filling up time! Then, big issues! The Fiji Cube overflow box had a leak in the bottom seam. I contacted Fiji Cube and they had a replacement box to me in about a week and a half. I didn't want to wait that long or replace all of the plumbing that was already attached to it, so I repaired with Weld-on 16. I will set the extra on the shelf just in case. Kind of a bummer, but Fiji Cube made it right and was easy to work with.

Still a major work in progress, but here is where we stand today. I have a Nuvo 10 that I'm using for a temporary tank for my clown that I've had for years and look to move him to the new system within the next couple of weeks. 1651283685029.png

I'd didnt even notice that it was an IM APS. That is a heck of a combination! Now you have me thinking as I really like the APS stands.....

I’ve seen the FijiCube stands in person and they’re…fine. Kind of the same deal as a Red Sea stand where they come in a flat pack.

Maybe some confirmation bias, but I’ll take an APS stand over just about any other commercially available stand any day.

I agree. I like that’s made of aluminum and glass. Easy to clean and maintain. Best of all I won’t worry about water ruining the stand . I also like the idea of having doors on the end of the stand.

So after agonizing over all the aquarium choices, you’re tank setup is exactly what IveI’ll be ordering a Fiji tank and APS stand this weekend.

So exciting! Link your build thread here when you start it! I'd love to follow along.

First fish went in the tank today. I know that some reefers think these little guys are the devil and probably also think I’m crazy for adding it first, but I’ve had nothing but positive things to say about six lines over the years.

He is a bit of a “tester” fish. Assuming everything is good in the morning, I’ll be moving my nearly 7 year old clown and 5 year old pistol shrimp over.

I’m glad your tank had no issues. I have the 76 gallon with internal overflow and both tanks have had issues :downcast-face-with-sweat:

By the way, I love your lights :smiling-face-with-sunglasses:

Here is a link to my building thread.

A few new additions as of 7/30. Unfortunately, my 7+ year old clownfish found a small gap in the screen top about a month ago :crying-face:

Fish Added:
1x Royal Gramma
3x Green Chromis
2x Misbar Ocellaris Clownfish

I've also been experimenting with improving the flow within the tank. I will be adding a second Tunze 6095 powerhead to the left side of the tank shortly (where all the fish poo is currently settling).
