I just purchased the Aqueon QuietFlow LED PRO 10 Aquarium Power Filter for my 5 gallon QT, but noticed it has carbon in the filters. I looked at other filters for small tanks and they all have carbon. Does anyone have a recommended filter?
This is what I do for the carbon filled penguin pads.

Make a cut on the top side, dump all the carbon out. Now you have a filter to be used in the QT while medicating.

You can also just cut one filter floss completely off it, dumpout the material, then use any cheapo filter floss or even polyfil. the bracket left over willhold it in place

Thanks. Do you keep the carbon in there if you aren't medicating when in the QT or is it always out?
