^^^^Just what the doctor ordered Thanks I will ordered one.

Sorry I didn’t see that sooner but you did get the answer I do use the ring to keep it in place. I also have them in my jbj 45AIO which in that case I had to trim the edges of the cup so there are many different ways to get them to fit different needs.

bringing this back from the dead...

Can you put something like matrix or pond matrix in these? They aren't constantly submerged, so it's like a trickle filter, and add some pillow filling on top as a pre-filter and change that daily or every other day?

You can use any media you may need and yes I do use poly floss which is pillow filling. I do replace it every two days .

I tried these, and found that between having to cut floss and the floss making my skimmer overflow, it was not much less of a hassle than socks.

If you have the older “low flow” cup yes I also had the issue of it stopping up the sump but you can drill extra holes to get the flow better or get the high flow cups. Cutting material can be a challenge which is why I use poly floss it’s an easy in and out . On my AIO jbj I am able to cut filter pad in a square that just covers the top and have my chemipure in the cup itself.

Has anyone found a media cup that fits the trigger systems 39”? I have 3 filter socks that are held by an acrylic plate. Holes are oval shaped...haven’t seen any oval shaped rings on any filter cups.

I haven’t had the trigger system but if you have a little diy talent you can probably make a ring to hold the cup I have done this for a few sumps.

I contacted Trigger Systems. They made me an acrylic plate that would fit two media cups. All good. [emoji106]

Does the Icecap 4” filter cup fits the Red Sea reefer 350? It’s on sale now and since I can’t find a 4” cup to diy so I want to give it a shot.

On their site it says fit “most” sump to include Red Sea.

Let me know. Thx
