Hey guys, I recently just got some freshwater mollies for my frag tank. I drip acclimated them for 3 hours. They are eating and pretty active in the tank. However, this morning I noticed there's some fin rot on the gold panda Molly and several white spots on the tail of the Dalmatian Molly (see picture), I've never had any fish in the frag tank, and I did not quarantine these mollies since I thought the parasite will die off going from freshwater to saltwater? How should I proceed at this point? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

It appears you have something parasitic in your frag tank. It looks somewhat like ich.

This is interesting to me. The OP says he’s never had fish in this tank, how could a parasite (ich) survive without a host?
I’m assuming the only way would be to introduce an encysted parasite from a newer coral frag, correct?

Correct if the OP has added any frags in the last +/-60 days there could be viable tomonts releasing free swimmers.

Thank you guys! I did add some new corals about a month ago. I'll take these guys out and put them through quarantine!

No problem, just remember now you need to take the frag tank back to 76 days fallow before moving any of the corals to a tank with fish.

Will coral dip kill encysted parasites or do corals need a lengthy QT also? I’ve always just dipped them and never thought to much about it.

Dips will not erradicate encysted tomonts. It will remove coral pests etc.
