The water can only flow in an out of the bottom, is that ok?

Should be fine. We use things like that at the store for clowns that are getting beat up and as long as you take the time to keep it clean and dont leave them in there for over a week or so they are usually fine. The point here is to see if the aggressor lets up or still goes at the other even when in the box. if after a week you introduce him back to the tank and the other starts kicking booty again, then it could be time to consider getting a different clown.

When u say different clown do you mean replace the aggressor or the one being picked on? Lol

Either one really. I'd probably get rid of the aggressor and get a new clown. How are they acting today?
