I'd wait for corals until you add some light, move those polyps under the LED that you have now. And that coral beauty is a coral muncher.

I blamed the Tang for my polys being closed. But that doesnt mean the CB isnt behind it. And seems like the ones that arent directly under the LED's stay open more. Is that LED not enough to support coral?

Tangs are reef safe, wouldn't bother coral, and the lighting you have now is good, but doesn't cover enough of the tank, if you raise it up a foot youl get more light coverage.

I'd do a lot more reading also before trying any more corals. You wouldn't want anything to happen to them and lose you're money or get bummed out and give up all together.

Other than that you're off to a good start!

Thanks ! I got those for free so its a good test to see how coral would do in there. Shame bout the coral beauty tho its an awesome fish. Also i intend on raising it just have to figure out a way. Leaning towards a wall bracket or box for it.

cool stuff man! What's the size and volume of this tank? Did you put all of those fish in at once? If so, did you notice any spikes in ammonia? I hope you don't have any issues with that CB and the coral!

Always fun adding fish and coral to a new setup. Glad to see you are testing out keeping corals by using softies. I also did this and once I was familiar enough with the care of corals and water levels I soon begin keeping SPS. I would definitely buy another LED light for your tank just to be on the safe side. :)

To answer above questions

Its a home made light I could slip some wire on the and hang it from the ceiling but I think a wall mount hanger would be best.

I did not put all those fish in at once. I spread it out over a month I have 0 ammonia atm. Its a 55gal with a 10 gal sump probably about 60gal total. And me too I love the look of the CB but if it nips an expensive coral its gone.

As for the second light I think im going to get one nex upgrade. I may just DIY a larger one. Gotta love those DIY LED threads

Thanks for all the feedback guys. This site has helped me 100% of the way through setting up this tank
