I placed a fire fish I had in QT in my main tank last night. He hid in the rocks and this morning I saw him before lights came on before I went out. After I came home lights were on and couldn’t find him but figured he was just hiding in rock work. Just walked into the room and saw something dart behind my elegance coral. And sure enough he is hiding between the elegance coral and the back glass. Is this something I should worry about or leave them be for now? I’ve seen him dart in and out of there a few times now. I’ve heard stories of an elegance killing a fish but never really thought it would happen.

I’ve determined that he’s still a little scared of some of my fish. I did a water change and all the fish hid and then at the end he came out. It seems that the blue tang is curious about the new tank mate and investigating. So the fire fish being cautious is hiding from the blue tang. In a couple days I’m sure they’ll ignore each other

Firefish are extremely skittish any loud noise fast movements or if anything got in the tank they run mine even freaks out when the lights change over the next few days youra should find a little hideout to call it’s own and will always shoot there when scared

I assume that’s what will happen. Tonight once lights go down and elegance closes up he’ll probably go find a little hole in my rock work or cave and hunker down there

I may throw a pipe or two in there but it’s a big tank(133 gallons) so idk if he will find it and use it. Elegance doesn’t seem to be bugging him and he’s poking out every once in a while. Did feed him but any time he sees my blue tang or marble wrasse he darts back down.
