Hi all! My wife and I decided after a couple of years of talking that we are taking a dive (no pun intended) into the reef tanks. We both have many years of freshwater tanks so this will be our first saltwater. We decided to start small and see how things go. We decided on the Red Sea Max Nano as our first tank. It’s definitely going to be a learning experience as I’ve already had my first “Critter ID” required haha! Aiptasia it appears. The tank was filled yesterday the sand, rock, and water.

Welcome to R2R...ugh, I've definitely dealt with the aiptasia problem, which I thought was a cute "anemone" years ago. We live and learn in this business! ;Joyful

First piece of LPS went in yesterday. A green trumpet. Also put in a Red Banded Goby and his Pistol Shrimp buddy. Haven’t been able to get of pic of the pair yet as they went under a rock in the back of the tank.

I'm new to reefing to! Cannot wait to see where your tank goes, I have dealt with Aiptasia, thought it was a cute coral! I used to think people who bought dry rock were stupid but now I think dry rock is the way to go! Goodluck!!
