First pics with the new camera

meds to mess with the white balance I think I have no clue what I’m doing and this has the pumps on. And ideas would help!

I know next to nothing about photography and cameras, but I'm familiar with the saying "the secret to taking a good photograph is taking a lot of them."

So, keep snapping away!

If you can, shoot in RAW format. Then use software like Lightroom to adjust things in post processing. Remember if your lights do not have the full spectrum of colors, white balance will not be able to compensate. If there is no red light, there will be no red colors even if they exist in the tank. Pure red will just look black.

What camera and lens are you using? Lightroom is an application you can use to adjust your photos if you are using a DLSR camera and shooting in RAW format.

Learning to use RAW and it's potential unlocks a whole new aspect to photography.
It looks like your exposure is high because I can see the little blur in everything so your lens is open too long and because of that while the lens is trying to absorb light(image) but things moved in the picture during that time.
This can be caused by you moving while holding the camera or the contents in the image (corals) being moved by water flow.

Best to turn off pumps and let water sit still or have enough light that you can lower your exposure setting(best practice anyways) and take a quick shot. So youll have to ramp up lighting briefly.
More exposure usually leads to more grain so that's why youll see many people try to keep the lowest possible exposure setting.

What's the camera? If it's a phone then you're probably limited in what you can do. I might be mixing up terms and stuff it's been a long time since I've played with my cameras.

Take your time and play with settings, the more familiar you get with the camera the better your shots will get, keep it up

Thanks so much for the replies. My wife actually bought me a xenvo lens for my I phone with three lens. The pictures come out really close to color with no adjustments. Take a look.
