Hi Everybody!

New reefer from Sweden here. Used to have freshwater aquariums for many years but been away from aquariums for some year. But now that my life has both the time and the finances needed, I've decided to try to fulfil my dream of having a slice of a coral reef in my home :D

Decided to got with the Red Sea Max E-170 and I'm really impressed with the quality so far!

This is the major stuff I've added to it:
  • Aqua Medic T controller twin + 200w Titanium heater
  • Aqua Medic Refill System 2.0
  • AI nero 5
  • Wet Live Rock from LFS and Red Sea live sand
  • RO/DI water and Tropic Marine pro reef salt
Currently 5 days into cycling using Red Sea Mature Kit. Everything goes pretty well so far, only real issue I have is that my sand is shifting around in the flow exposing the bottom glass. Guess I need to add some coarser sand, or any one have some other tips for managing this?

What it looks like now

Looks good. I also doses microbacter7 daily during my cycle and it took 2 weeks for my ammonia/nitrite to hit 0.

Thanks, yes ammonia and nitrite has been steady at 0 for a while now, nitrate has been a bit high at 20 but doing some water changes and dosing nopox and it's down to 10 so I'm thinking of adding my first fishes soon.

Coarser sand will fill in the spots that get blown around now.
Great, will pick some up!

Not much else happening in the tank really, but I've upgraded the media basket to the inTank one, nice quality!

Also done some upgrades to the system:

Added a dd h2ocean p4 pro dosing pump, currently dosing some TM all-for-reef and nopox.

Also had a LED strip laying around from my kitchen renovation so added som lights to the cabinet

As well as a Red Sea diy net cover (bit disappointed in the net quality, quite brittle plastic, rips easy)

I just ordered the same thing after seeing yours. Looks much better than the flimsy one that comes standard

My E-170 hasn't arrived yet but I ordered the InTank basket.
