Isen't it much easyer to scape with no water? Clement the rock in place then fill it.
I’ve even already buy the cement but I’m not very certain if I’m going to use it. if I want to change the layout or take one specific rock out.. it is going to be a pain in the back. No?
But on the other side not very secure about the stability of the rock work...

a little story, a few years ago a had asterae cichlid that a bad sucker the guy kick everyone’s butt, he put some of the others on top of the aquarium with the dorsal fun already out of the water, andif they came out of that spot he would beat them so that they would hit the glass cover, I was really mad with this fish, one day I came back from a long weekend and this sob was dead stuck between a rock that gave in and the side glass... karma is a *****!!

hi

Hope everyone’s safe
Being at home... I changed a couple of things. (benefits of spending some € on unions)
I saw some benefits on changing the diameter of the full siphon, it would be easier to dial in the manifold and it would take less space in the sump. Therefore I can put more media maybe more biobloks.

Then i decided to remove the loc-line, i was getting some salt creep and the flow was to straight. Having already at home to random flow generators i split in half now i dont have sand blowing and a patchs without sand.

The light is only temporary i have a black box arriving (i hope), i think thats what people call these lights. And i hope these will also be temporary after a few months i will have to buy something better, but for now with all this uncertain... this cheap light will have to make.

Tomorrow i will change the location of the Sonoff Pow2(where i can shutdown everything inside the tank and also monitor the power consumption), currently is on the right side inside of the cabinet, but i'm going to put'it inside a IP65 PVC box on the left side, inside will be the sonoff and a raspberry pi or a nodemcu with some sensors to monitor and communicate to my home assistant, this will also give me some space to build a fresh water reservoir to then buy a ATO on top of the sump.
When done will post some pics.

Stay safe
Regards
Bonifácio

I am now between homes, i sold my apartment and are looking for a house, se the tank went to a friend of mine.... lost almost every coral, only zoas and other softs, PO4 out of the hanna scale....
Now is again on control, all water parameters are on check.
The sump i built when i set the tank was made of glass and occupy the total space of the cabinet, so i had a 5 gallong bucket as a RODI deposit. neither me or the wife like that.
I came in hand with some old, uses sheets of acrilic (it was from a front of a display in theaters) and after seeing melev's work.... i decided to givit a go.
This is the Sump mid way the dismantle already without return, reactor, fans and heating

The sides of the "drawer" are too low, if not careful the splashes will make a mess...

I still have an automatic roller flece to install, it fits(barely) behind the skimmer i just need to get a 32mm flexible hose

The seams of the acrilyc are not perfect, most are pretty damm god, and some have some bubbles.
Both sump and rodi deposit have been tested full to the brimm for weeks, no leaks.

So ... for the first acrilyc work, i give my self a 7 out o 10 :D

Any thoughts?
