First Rescue of 2018: Snowflake Moray eel! *continuous updates*

Many of you probably know me from the psychedelic mandarin I rescued some time ago, he lived happily for some time but unfortunately his time was cut short on Christmas Eve.

At another local fish store there had been a moray eel in a big container for months. It was dirty, small, covered in algae and his substrate was his own fecal matter. I love morays, but I didn’t want to adopt something I wasn’t 100% sure how to care for.

Now that my heart is no longer broken, it was time to save another marine animal. On Sunday I went and picked up the moray, now named Marvin, and brought him home. I made the pet store give me clean water to bag him with.

Big smiles for finally having clean water!!!


For now he’s living comfortably in my 20 gallon Nuvo. Hopefully I can get a custom top made for my main display, move my inverts into another tank and he can join the reef

Marvin is moving into a 55g probably by Sunday. He’s very excited.

This will hopefully be his permanent home and a long term home for my 1” Picasso trigger, Todd.

(And Todd, also a rescue) !!

Update!

Unfortunately due to my parents divorcing I’m only allowed my 75g and nuvo 20 concept. The place I’m moving to isn’t forever.. but Marvin will be in the nuvo for longer than I thought he’d be I’m sad but that’s life sometimes... he’s still small and has lots of room. Plus it’s a nuvo so I mean, he’s living pretty good LOL

Anyways, Marvin finally ate tonight! All week I’ve been trying everything and he just wouldn’t but tonight was the night! It won’t let me attach the video so I have a still. I’m so excited. I love this lil guy so much lol

Tomorrow I’m going to the hardware store to pick up some PVC to build him some caves to explore and some macro algae
