First Tank, First Post

Hey Gang!
After what seems like forever, here we go. The cycle took a while because I started with dry rock and dry sand. Since this is my first tank, I decided to take the longer cycle than get into possible trouble with live rock. All parms are running in the norms.


Tank Mods and EQ:

JBJ 28G Nano Cube Intermediate LED
InTank Media basket (using BRS Rox Carbon, BRS GFO, and Intank's Filter floss)
BRS rubble in a media bag on the other side
Replaced the stock pumps with Eheim Compact 1000's running on the JBJ wavemaker
Cobalt NeoTherm Heater
Sicce Voyager Nano Stream Power head
Replaced the stock fans in the hood with Gelid Silent 5's
20 lbs Fiji Pink Sand
BRS Pukani for the aquascape


Livestock thus far:

SA Snow Onyx Clown (added last weekend)
SA Blacker Ice Clown (added last weekend)


I plan on picking up a clean up crew this weekend.

How are things in Lexington? I lived there for 14 years and graduated from LTI at University of Kentucky campus. Are there good local fish stores in the area now or do you have to travel or order in via the web? I have often thought about moving back to the area and still have fammily there.

There is an excellent LFS here on Winchester Rd called KY Saltwater Supplies, so no need to drive very far for live stock and supplies.

I like the rock, wish I went with it. I thought it came in much bigger pieces.

You can let BRS know what size tank you have and what size of rock you are using. I had to trim down some with a hacksaw and chisels.
