Hi R2R

I’ve had hammers and frogspawns and generally kept them in lower flow, decided I want a torch garden in this tank this time around and was wondering if this flow was OK. Frags been in about 2 weeks.

It’s a 6 foot tank with 2 gyre 350s running at 50% anti pulse mode, 10 second delay:

Torches like moderate random flow and moderate light. My torches get a little more flow and light than my hammers and frogspawn. That looks pretty good.

Ok thanks wanted to make sure it wasn’t getting too beat up. I got a few more frags coming in this week I’ll be acclimating and adding around this one.

Remember, leave room unless it’s another torch, the torch usually wins coral warfare. Frogspawn and hammers can touch each other but not torches.

My torch has similar flow as yours and is doing well.

I need to get a new video of my torches but here’s an older one, this is how much they can tolerate. And mine this video is of them at a lower flow. Towards the end you can see how much flow some of them are getting.

looks great! the torch seems happy so I wont change anything. If anything I'll crank up the flow once acros start branches off but I have some time before then lol.

I just ordered 2 wrasses too so funny coincidence!

That looks like perfect flow for the torch. It looks like she still acclimating to the new tank. I’m sure in no time all your torches will be letting their tentacles loose. I know they also get use to higher flow if need be.

pics in the wrasse lovers thread are a must when you get them.
I believe I’ve got 17.

Definitely don’t change anything as the torch is happy.

Beautiful torches!! And you got plenty of room to work with
Thanks just got them in this afternoon, got a free hammer with the order as well but unfortunately cracked it with cutters... no more multi tasking for me lol was on a work call.

I put them in the center of the tank, I want them to be the center piece of my LPS collection. I got plenty of real estate with the 200 gallon. Super glad I went with these dimensions.

Figured I'd give a update for new torch owners, about 5 months in and got a few splits. Lost the hellfire while it was splitting not sure why? Rest are doing good dragon soul went from 2 to 4 heads:

Happens sometimes unfortunately. Splitting is a stressful process

I lost a head on this guy during a recent split

Bummer looks like it has good colors. Yeah that’s what I chalked it up to. Took everything in me to not start moving stuff around lol.

Figured if the rest are fine keep course and glad I did. Younger me would start changing things and probably make it worse
