Sucks when washing machines crap out like that. Did you get a front or top loader for the new one?

An assistant you say? Sucks getting older but it's also nice to be spoiled.
We got a top loader. Wife doesn’t like front loaders.

It does suck but shoveling dirt and stacking big rocks sucks anyway.

Been a bit. I have been busy with the yard work and moving the pond to the back.

All done except for getting someone to take the excess fish.

I got the shock of my life today. I went to feed the fish in the reef and the lights came on and honestly, ever single aiptasia is gone. For the life of me I have never seen anything like it. I haven't even gotten my order with the peppermints yet.

Anyway. Now to solve the algae issues and I will be on my way to a decent looking reef.

Also, I think I have settled on my lighting combo. Only running two of the T5 bulbs. A plus and a special actinic. Running the kessils on all blue at 90%. This looks the best to Sherry and I and hopefully the corals agree.

Anyway, I am hoping that I can get finished setting up the apex. I just lost interest in it for a bit.

As soon as I can get some of the algae cleared up, I will post pics

Quit being all demure and post a pic with the lights at full-blown-boogie.

Picked up some Chaeto and got the fuge redrilled and setup. Ball of Chaeto started tumbling slowly right off the bat.

I also picked up a purple stylo but we don't think it'll do very well. it was free anyway.

And I got a 4th kessil. Not sure if it'll be a back up or added to the other 3 yet so I can run a bit lower power but get better spread.

Cleanup crew from Reeftopia just showed up and is floating.

They dry ship their snails and crabs? I have never seen this. Usually shippers at least put wet paper towels in with them. I am a bit concerned.

Noticeable growth already in the Chaeto. Not a lot but it's growing.

Dry ship? Thats strange however many things survive live rock shipments that are not submerged. My recent 35lbs of GLR and a rose coral that made it dry.

This is true. I got a white cheek moray in the 90s it was about the size of a pencil. I also got many polyps back then as well.

Pete always ships snails "dry" good practice
All the snails from overseas transship" dry", 1 snail dies in bag of water will lose whole bag
1 or 2 die "dry" in 3-500 lots ,no problem... 😉

So does that mean they don't spit in them? I doubt they would as they'd need a lot of spit. I might still spit in a few though.

Well it appears all the crabs and shrimp made it and about 70 (best I can tell) of the snails made it out of 100. I have honestly never gotten more than 50% to arrive and live so this is the best shipment ever. :)

Delivering a bunch of laser engraved stuff to a local freshwater store this weekend and over 30 stainless steins to a government contractor.

The money from this has gone towards shop/storage upgrades so I can do larger builds more efficiently. I may even finally finish my 30x30x10 frag tank @Lowell Lemon !

I definitely want to redo the doors on the 12 foot stand and build ones for the reef stand as well.

Other than tank maintenance and yet another stein order, I plan on putting the dash back together on the truck and maybe, just maybe, taking some photos of the tanks.

There are some more aiptasia but I noticed a peppermint shrimp going at one. So with 6 of them and the others they should all be gone soon

The snails pretty much all lives. Reckon it took a day or two for all of them to come around

They have cleaned the front glass. And the let side very well and are working on the right. Hopefully soon they get the back.
