Let me offer some input. Considering you can barely get from the car in the car port to the house, I suggest you hire someone. Actually not just someone but a professional. I mean, let’s face it, hiring a non-professional someone would only yield results as good as the work you’d do and no one wants that!

I soooooo glad I have friends like you to keep my ego in check and care for me.

Just ordered a bulk shipment of TDO chroma boost medium. OUCH! That stuff has gone up!

But, it'll be about a year before I have to order again. I keep it in the fridge so it keeps well.

Yeah a full size one. I keep all the frozen food, drinks, etc. in there.

We did keep extra eggs in there but, for safety sake we keep them in a hidden bunker so no one finds our stash. LOL!

So some decisions had to be made on the future of my place in this hobby for several reasons.

I can’t go without aquariums but I can’t keep going like I am right now so I am turning the rs625xxl into a reef tank, the 12 footer is going back planted and I am selling the 187 and the 525xl and the 15 gallon column tank. I will still add the lagoon tank in the near future.

This will give me more room, less humidity and less work to deal with and I think out the spark back in the hobby for me.

I will still have a ton of stuff to sell. And am going to a reefbreeders light setup for the reef. The smatfarm a work very well but, I have seen several tanks lately in person with the rb lights and wish I would have kept them ones I had but never used. I am actually getting the same ones back.

All the fish out of the 12 footer are going with the 187 except the powder and the sailfin and a few small guys. I am keeping the powder and giving the others to a buddy for his 240.

All the fish out of the 187 except the filefish are going in the new reef. The clowns and damsels will eventually go in the lagoon.

I know it’s a lot of change but I feel like this is what I need to maintain what little sanity I have left.

I will take a lot of photos as things progress.

Sounds like you’ve given this some thought and I am happy that you’re doing what serves you best. I, for one, would like to see you get back to MH but understand your decision. It will be exciting to watch the upcoming changes and have to believe these changes are going to help make Sherry happy too!

thanks bud! I think I have everything covered. I have a buddy helping do the moves.

I should have everything I need by the end of next week. Sand, overflow, lights and a new ro membrane. I just got 10 pounds of citric acid to clean all the pumps and such. And I got an order of new filter socks in and a huge bag of polyfil.

I may need a couple adapters for the freshwater drains but that I can run get from the hardware store as we set it up.

Ok the 12 foot tank is empty and being cleaned. Should have sand in it and hard scape tomorrow and water heating.

plan is to move the plants Wednesday and the fish Friday.

I ordered the aragonite and a Fijicube overflow box for the reef tank today as well as started bleaching all the rock from the 12 footer. I am not exaggerating when I tell you there was several hundred bristle worms in the tank and some of them almost a foot long.

I am so glad I am starting anew on the reef.

I will have the chance to fix a bunch of things and set it up better.

I will take pics soon.
