Over flow and clifhanger are out for delivery. Gotta wait until Thursday for the acrylic to arrive to laser cut it then finish the sump.

Got all the measurements done and am just about ready to modify the stand but, someone insists that I put in additional shelves in the new kitchen cabinets first. Darnit!

Thanks! That is exactly what I want.

I wish my overflow box inside the tank was white. Wait a tic, I know someone with a big CO2 laser, calipers and about 5 sheets of 5mmx600x600 white acrylic. Maybe he will do me a solid... ;)

Fun Raining GIF by Ryan Seslow

If you have any of these or related products laying around your house it is a likeness and image of so I do get royalties. You know where to send the check.

So I don't have much room for a water change setup but really need one. So, I opted for 13 gallon verticle containers (AKA trashcans).

I will set it up just like a regular one just a smaller pump and plumbing. It will make it more convenient this way. You have to work with what you have.

The shelves for the cabinets are almost done so I plan on having everything for the more important project amassed by weeks end and will start taking photos of the stock pile and progress.

"About 5 sheets" sounds kind of specific. Almost like you know that person pretty well!

I thought you had set up an AWC. Did I misunderstand something?

Yes. But I am going to scale it back. Right now, it looks terrible and taking up way too much space with the brute cans. I will just change the volume settings in the schedule.

I will still be able to do it and I plan on adding a single water change every week or two weeks as well.

It will be 1 gallon a day from the GLH doser and then 10 gallons every week or two weeks as a larger water change. Total system volume will be right at 70 gallons.

I have been reading different information from recent posts on water changes and, as with everything in this hobby, it's changed over the years and this seems like the best combination for results. Also, since I will be running almost entirely soft corals and a few LPS, I will only be dosing all for reef unless something gets out of whack.

Ok I could not help myself.

I was thinking about ordering another inside box for my overflow so I had an extra fro cleaning. I was going to paint them both white.

But it’s $70 plus shipping for it and still painted.

10 minutes of drawing and 10 more cutting and here we are.

Just gotta Weldon it together. Gonna use Weldon 16 to out a piece of 1.5” pipe in the hole. Weldon 4 for the rest. Might ease the edges on the router table.

I’ll cut another if this fits right and looks right when done.

Second one and the baffles cut. Decided to go with white on the baffles.

Actual cut time on the box is 8:57 if you cut it all in one go.
Baffles took 8:11

All of this cost me nothing because I had left over 1/4" white from a paid project and they told me to keep what was left. 🤑

My short bodied platinum koi for my pond came in. 3 of them. Picking them up Saturday and then going to an lfs south of here to visit and spend some store credit. Just coral, no fish.

Sherry wanted the koi after she saw them in a tank in the store but they were sold. So I had them order some.

You do know you have to post pics when you get the Koi, right? Unless you want an unruly mob outside your house, hand-picked by me.

Will do. I will take a pic in the bag because small koi tend to hide for a bit when they hit the pond.
