So, I was discussing the age of the tang I got from my buddy. He started digging back through Facebook and found out when he bought it.

Btw water change station is done and I came up with a way to better organize/hide wires.

Also got the topoff container moved so I can roll out the water change waste can.

So, my scale is way off. Good thing I measured salinity when I said it was 1.025.

I went by weight but noticed it was way more salt than the first time I did it. So I put in about what I thought was in the beaker last time. It hit 1.025 but instead of saying 2718 it said 1516! So, I took 4 AA batteries and put on the scale. (They should weight right about 100grams), the scale said 88.

I was using a kitchen scale. Not known for accuracy long term but super cheap.

I decided to get a 6000g capable lab scale and a 100 gram lab grade reference weight. Will be here in a couple days.

Lesson learned. On something where accuracy is this important, don't cheap out.

I also tuned up my refractometer. I highly recommend getting a 35ppt reference solution and cleaning your refractometer well and calibrating often.

After this week's water change I am sending off an ICP test.

Funny you should say that. I am considering going to white acrylic instead of PVC so I can use wet erase markers and keep track of parameters, schedules, to-do lists, etc.

3 printers, no waiting. lol

printing scoops, hose hangers and a shelf for the maxi doser.

I get frosting buckets from Publix bakery for free and they have gaskets in the lids. They run them through their dishwasher once already. So, after a quick trip through our dishwasher with no soap and then hand dry, I can store things like salt, citric acid, etc. in them and I keep one for just cleaning power heads and pumps in it.

The other good thing about them is they are only 3 gallons so they don't take up as much room.

I had a pair of clowns for 15 years. They died when I had a mystery disease wipe out almost every fish in my tank when I first started it.

The shelf/hanging box for the doser will work out on the second print. I made it so perfectly fit that it got stuck!

I ended up having to cut it off. lol

sized it up 1% and printing again. Lesson learned.

I used white PETG with 4 wall and top and bottom layers, 20% gyroid infill. Super strong. It will look like the doser is just floating on the wall. Not really the intention but a cool side effect of mounting it like this.

I will take pics when it's done and mounting. Gotta do another big water change in a few first.

I also got the stand light mounted and working with Alexa. I finally realized the Alexa outlet was dropping communication and tossed it. I honestly think it was the first one I ever bought almost 7 years ago for the store.

I think I got my money's worth.

As an interesting note, I did a search to see how long these outlets are supposed to last:

On average, Alexa-compatible smart outlets and plugs last between 3 to 5 years. While high-quality name brands like the official Amazon Smart Plug or TP-Link Kasa can easily push past the 5-year mark, generic or ultra-cheap alternatives frequently burn out within 1 to 2 years. [1, 2, 3]

I know I am going on way too much about the water change station but, man!, I am so glad I did this.

9 minutes from shutting off the return pump and ATO to having the glass cleaned, filter sock changed and 18 gallons of water changed and dumped and start refilling the saltwater can.

Having everything in one app helps as well. I need to put the heater for the saltwater can on the app as well. Right now I have to go under the station and unplug it.

Now, to setup the AWC after the new shelf finishes printing.

This tank continues to amaze me. Couldn't imagine parting with it ever.
