Why has my leopard wrasse changed from this

to this

almost overnight.

All leopard wrasse are born female. Yours has changed to a male and is now displaying male colouration.

Ah thanks lineatus. I heard that could happen but I didn’t realise it could change so quickly. I preferred the original colouration though.

That is certainly a male leopard (M. bipartitus male specifically). It looks like the female was displaying a few changes in the past, usually it’s a slow process and it finished the transition over night. The face is usually the main giveaway, others may consist of a pattern change.
