I don't have any idea how many brittle stars are in my reef but there are loads of them. Today I saw my dragon wrasse eat one. I don't remember ever seeing a fish eating one of these things because, well beacuse, they are brittle and have the consistancy of glass.
The wrasse pulled it out of a rock by it's arm and kept chewing it and spitting it out until the thing was completely consumed.
You would think I don't feed him enough. :squigglemouth:

I have seen my yellow coris cruising around with one hanging out of his mouth, pretty funny scene actually.

Dragon Wrasses grow large, aren't reef safe and will take out inverts that it can overpower. I had one long long time ago prior to having good knowledge on reef keeping.

I have also been keeping dragon wrasses for decades and when he gets larger I will give him to a public aquarium like I do with many fish.
I have some reef keeping experience as my reef is 40 years old.
The wrasse is now only about 3" long and he will stay that size for a year or so, then he is gone, unless he starts trouble before then.

My Halichoeres melanurus wrasse also eats them the same way. I also have a Niger Trigger that eats them as well.

I have not kept triggers for decades but I am sure they will eat them and everything else.

I had a christmas wrasse that would get excited every time my hand went in the tank. He would wait for me to move somthing so he could grab a star and shake it like a pittbull...
