Add the least aggressive first, clown goby, firefish, yellow assessor, something that doesn’t get too big. Add the clownfish or damsel last

I have a pair of black snowflake clownfish, a six line wrasse and an orange spotted goby + tiger pistol shrimp in my nuvo 20. In my nuvo 10, i have a tail spot blenny and a green clown goby. just be aware that of those choices, the six line can become quite aggressive, though mine is a baby. my orange spotted goby wards him off if he gets too close to where the tiger pistol shrimp is working
My six line is a perfect gentleman. Sometimes I feel like the only six line advocate out there. ;) Here’s the thing.... I keep him busy. I buy a bottle of pods about every 2-3 weeks. I also have a cherub angel that hunts them too. He never stops hunting and is a fat little pig. He was the very first fish I put in. He’s never looked at any other fish. If you have a problem, it might be because 20 gallons is small for a six line. Not because the six line will grow too big, but because they swim a lot. The more room you give them the happier they’ll be. The other potential problem is your clowns. If they pair up, they will own all 20 gallons of your tank and the other guys will have nowhere to run.

Anyway, I don’t think I’d recommend a six line for the OPs tank. Just my 0.02.

Hmmmm.....For price I would say my budget is under $25 U.S.D. Whether it be one big fish or ten small ones.

Oops, sorry. These definitely out of that range. Just was trying to think of a super kool hardy fish for smaller tank with rock

No problem, always fun to think about all the possible fish you could get. Do you guys think 20 gallons is sufficient for two Royal Grammas?

Wouldn't that be like facing off two MMA fighters in a small boxing rink after a long night of partying and one flirting with each others girlfriend??? Lol i dont know about two but had one a long time ago and angriest fish i ever owned. They r nice looking though.

Ok, I'm planning on getting a Neon Goby and a Yellow Clown Goby. I'd like to thank everyone who gave me advice on what to get. I settled on getting these two fish since they can individually live in at least a ten gallon tank, and so two could fit in a twenty gallon. Hopefully others will be able to take use of all the suggestions in this thread when creating their own tank. Have a nice day everybody!

Definitely! I got mine with the expectation that he may become a terror, but he has been a star citizen. Him and the clowns hang out together all day. In addition to what you said, I think being well fed has a huge part to play too. I know I get crabby when I'm hungry lol.

As for clowns, Everybody has clowns ! I have clowns. These fish can be be very territorial , thus in a 20 gl? Could be a problem .
