Either a Miniatus Grouper or a Polleni Grouper, its hard to tell for sure though. My main guess would be Miniatus just due to the patterning being more splotched.
Yeah this is definitely not a wrasse. It is most likely a young grouper. These things get close to 3 feet as adults.
