Looks like something similar to a crested oyster goby, but obviously a much lighter color and totally different markings.
But the shape of the body is spot on to a crested oyster goby

It's definitely a goby, so that only narrows it down to a few thousand choices. It looks similar to some Cryptocentroides species, so maybe a closely related genera.

The LFS is not sure. LFS thing it might be a randell goby buy it looks nothing like one. I will look at crested oyster goby and do some more reseache myself.

Sorry James, I haven't been able to identify it yet. Any chance you can get better pics showing all of the fins (hopefully extended)? A close up of the dorsal fins and caudal fin showing ray counts might help too. The markings on this fish are quite unique. I wonder if it has another color phase, because so far, nobody seems to have captured a pic of it except you! Maybe it's a new species?

I will try to get some more pictures. I will post them up in a few days.
That will be cool if it is a new species.
Thank you for all the help.

Probably came in as an assorted goby from Indo or Philippines. I would lean towards Genus like Istigobius or Bathygobius but very hard to ID exactly. Could even be a brackish water fish like the Cresteds are.

Thanks to everyone for all of the information.

Get a picture showing its mouth. It reminds me of a Lizardfish.

Looks like either the " slender Goby" or "giant Goby".
