I have a yellow watchman goby and he likes to swim near the top. Well twice now he has got to close to my overflow box and "swoosh" he's in the sump. The last watchman did the same thing, one to many times and thats why I am on number two. Is this fish dumb or just curious? What should I do to stop him? None of my other fish have ever done this.

maybe he's been watching finding nemo and that's his escape plan. if he only knew that nemo had a stunt double

i came home and was missing 3 fish. man i freaked out well sure enough all 3 must of figured that overflow looked like a place to go.

When I had a HOB overflow, my starry blenny would let the overflow pull him against the teeth and he would sit there for a while looking around. It looked like he was glued to the overflow. At first I pulled him off the first couple times I saw it cause I thought he was stuck but then saw him go right back to it. I think fish are just naturally drawn to currents so they probably swim against the water going into the overflow and some are just to small to fight it.
