Hello R2R community,

I'm gotten myself into a little pickle and was looking for some feedback.

I am still contemplating my final fish additions and was wondering what order I should run with.

I currently have an adult emperor angel, large dussumieri tang, a medium-sized tomini tang, a small naso tang, and a medium-sized niger trigger. They are housed in a 215-gallon tank with a very open aquascape. I do have other fish but none noteworthy for my dilemma.

My final additions will be a powder blue tang (small, he's already in the sump and happy and healthy), regal angelfish (this one will require some work to acclimate), an orange shoulder tang, and a pair/trio of yellow pyramid butterfly fishes (may just end up with one).

I'm trying to minimize warfare here and I feel like I should just keep the powder blue tang in the sump until I get some of the other fish QT'ed and into the main DT. I just know the powder blue is going to be combative no matter what, even though he's tiny, like 2" max.

The butterfly fish should be no problem and I've heard the orange should is only combative as it gets older. The regal is a shy fish anyways so I'm not too worried about him unless the emperor has issues with him.

Anyways, just looking for some feedback. I almost just want to release the powder blue in the tank and get him out of the sump already but I don't want to catch hell when he establishes territory in the DT and starts to be pest to any new additions.

Oh, BTW, I should say that I'm actually okay with switching out the duss tang for the orange shoulder tang if my population seems a little high there.

I've seen a number of folks who have trouble adding copperbands after PBT, and I don't know if the same would apply to Yellow Pyramids. From your list I add the solo Butterfly first, followed by swapping the dussmieri for both the PBT and OST at the same time. FWIW I have no idea how you're going to get that second angel in there. Very carefully like you said I guess.

I personally feel you might be pushing your system too hard by adding this many more to what you already have, but you can maybe pull it off long term if you were to take the Duss out. 2 feet of fish lol.

FWIW I've been through your recent thread so I'm a little familiar with your tank.

Thanks for the feedback. The duss was always going to be a temporary resident... probably two or three years max but I was going for the offchance that I could keep him if I upgraded house/tanks. I think the voice of reason is working well here and maybe I should pass him along and entertain the idea of doing what you suggest. I can add both of the PBT and OST at the same time... and hopefully sneak in the butterfly fish and regal angel without anybody noticing. Haha.

Adding the regal to an established emperor will be difficult.

Adding the tangs simultaneously should be fine.

The pyramids shouldn't be a problem at all.
