FISH MOUTH ISSUE

So my female clownfishes lip had look swollen and now it looks like it’s bottom lip is splitting. Any ideas what this could be??? It has me concerned...

There has been a little bit. The male or female will nip at the underside of each other then they will do a little dance lol. Other than that no lip locking. No aggression really. I bought them from my LFS and they claimed they were mated when they received them. I did however just put in a frogspawn frag not to long ago. I noticed this lip issue after I added the frogspawn...

Looks like the aftermath of pairing off or cleaning rock at pre-spawn. They beat themselves up

Yep. Male and female both eat fine. I feed them frozen brine. They both are acting normal. Nothing out of the ordinary...

I think time will heal but checking for early signs of bacterial infection is something I would keep in mind.

Would you say it will heal in time. I just don’t want to loose a fish because it won’t be able to eat properly in the future if it gets worse.

My male ran into an infection in his eye a week ago prior. It healed up quite nicely. Any correlation between the two you think?

Hmm it’s hard to say but it’s possible. Did you treat this infection?

No. It healed on its own. I’m assuming it was an injury that healed itself
