Hello fellow reefers! I'm 15 and am just about to finish my first year in high school. I have been in the reef keeping hobby for about 5 years. I have decided to enter my new custom aquarium mainly because it falls in the time line of my build and beacuse I have literally no income so I think that I will actually have a chance because of the $500 spending limit.

I have been planning this tank for about 6 months now and decided to pull the trigger on a custom made by my local fish store AquaMart. I like the dimensions of the 30 gallon frag tank made by deep blue so I had my tank modeled after it. The only thing that I didn't like was the internal overflow box. I had them make the same size tank (24x24x12 [LxWxH] inches), but I had them add an external overflow box.

Last aspect of this tank is that I want it to be a bare bottom due to the challenge aspects of sand. I plan to cover the bottom in softies and lps though. Sps will come!

Tank: Custom 24x24x12 inch starfire external overflow
Heater: 200 watt Ehiem Jager
Return Pump: Quiet One 3000
Lighting:Ledtric iNspire
Protien Skimmer: Cadlights Pipeless Protien Skimmer
Water Movement: JEBAO WP-40 13000L WAVE MAKER (on order)
ATO: TRIPLE SENSOR ELECTRONTIC DC AUTO WATER FILLER(on order)

Now for some pictures!:D

So I added my first snail, a turbo from my 55 gallon. And to my surprise, a few hours after I added it, it spawned! I tried to snap a picture but the water was so cloudy that it is really hard to get a clear one... still trying to get some of it off the surface... dang stuff is hydrophobic! Anyways, the spawn lasted about an hour. I took a 20 minute video for future reference, but here is a cloudy picture.

For someone who has no income you sure are doing good. So far looks great.

Well I have been saving for this since last October. Plus I had Christmas and my birthday and my grandma is letting me work at her house this summer and she pays WELL. :D of course summer has only been two days so far but I have made $50!
