Has anyone had one of these in a nano tank? I am thinking about getting one but have been reading that they hide a great deal. What behavior do you get out of your flame goby? Any other good alternatives to this guy?

LFS had one in a 1-2 gallon pico. Only time he ever saw it was if he pulled the rock out. Beautiful fish but they're the definition of cryptic. Plenty of other small shrimp gobies that would work-- https://www.liveaquaria.com/product/2755/?pcatid=2755 https://www.liveaquaria.com/product/181/hi-fin-red-banded-goby?pcatid=181&c=15+31+181 https://www.liveaquaria.com/product/1145/yasha-white-ray-shrimp-goby?pcatid=1145&c=15+31+1145 ...

Hotty Toddy!

That is what I keep reading. That is too bad. If you cant find it in a 1-2 gallon pico, then a nano would be out of the question. The Dracula goby is really cool and I am trying to source one, but have trouble finding someone with one in stock. Liveaquaria divers den had some a couple weeks back. I might just keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the other options as well. I will look into those as well! A fellow rebel? Nice! Hotty Toddy!

I had one in a 2 gallon and almost never saw him. Beautiful fish but as far as enjoyment you don't get much since they are difficult to spot.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Think I'm going to go another route being as they are expensive and seem to hide and never be seen. They are stunning fish though!
