I've been a member for a while and I have read far too many threads where a reefer has "flamed" a vendor or manufacturer for any one of dozens of reasons: bad service, poor quality, rudeness, price, shipping issues, etc. I understand the desire to use your voice when you feel that you have been slighted and I understand that social media platforms provide an outstanding stage from which to preach your gospel.

However, I think we owe it to each other and the vendors/manufacturers that work hard to advance the hobby and help people be successful to think before you just turn your guns to the group responsible for the latest equipment failure or distressed delivery.

That being said I would like to share an experience I had recently with BRS that so genuinely exceeded my expectations that I was taken off guard. I wont mention any names or detail the specifics but I reached out to them to request information about buying a replacement part for one of their pieces of equipment. I was asked, very promptly, to send a picture of the piece that failed. This particular piece was woefully out of warranty (if it even had a warranty to begin with) but I was told one had been located. Four days later it arrived on my doorstep free of charge despite my request to pay for it.

I think we as consumers need to be reminded from time to time that these companies genuinely do appreciate our business and our loyalty.

Same here. Had an issue with a series of Ecotech Vortech MP10s when I first got them, and BRS more than took care of me and got the parts out to me quickly, no questions asked :) their customer service is one of the reasons I use them as my primary source of dry goods. That plus I can get things from them next day since I'm in the neighboring state ;)

@BRS recently sent me a bucket of salt, I paid for it! Haha it came in bucket was busted and bag was ripped open. No big deal since I already have a bucket I store salt in. The ONLY reason I contacted them was just to being awareness, I wasn’t concerned nor did I want anything in return.

@BRS has done me right on more than one occasion, and so have others. @AVAST Marine same thing, and I'm even working with a vendor now, @Crystal Reef Aquatics, on a possible build and they have been fantastic to work with. I guess what I'm saying is I believe the vendors will what they can to make the customer happy, and keep and maintain that relationship. This is a small .hobby, word of mouth counts quite a bit. Oh, and I should include two top coral vendors who have been absolutely amazing. No need to bash public.

In my short time in this hobby I’ve been blown away by the customer care from BRS MarineDepot, and multiple coral growers. I have had zero negative experience with companies and folks represented here. Even Algaebarn once they completed their move sent me a very well populated jar free of charge and unexpected.
