I believe that is a chiton.

Edit to add: I believe they are reef safe, but maybe google a bit and convince yourself the guy/gal you have lines up with a reef-safe creature.

Really does ! I look in my tank daily and I have never seen this little guy.

It does look like a chiton. It will probably return to the exact spot again after cruising around all night eating film algae, diatoms, and barnacles. Chitons have the ability to return to the same exact spot. It's called a homing behavior. It's thought they leave a pheromone trail, that allow them to return.
