Floor Support Opinions...

So, I’m looking for opinions regarding floor support. I know there are many factors to consider, but would like to get opinions based on the info I’m able to provide. I’m planning a 180G, so total weight will be ~2000 lbs. The basement room below the DT is finished, which makes adding additional floor support pretty involved/costly. Here’s the additional info…

-Home was built in 1991.
-DT will back up to an exterior wall and supporting floor joist will be running perpendicular to tank.
-Floor Joist are 2x10 and spaced 16†apart. Each joist spans ~14ft.
-Based on exact position of DT, 5 joist will be directly underneath the tank.

Thoughts?

No - there is no girder of any kind.

ok. so this room is 14' with a foundation around the perimeter? if so joists are strongest within 3' of where they bear.

The room is 14', but the foundation does not span complete perimeter. The wall directly below the DT is made up of foundation & day light wall. Make sense?

You are fine. I have a 220 sitting against a load bearing interior wall with perpendicular floor joists. Mine has been sitting there for 3 years.
Plenty of support on an exterior wall with joists like you have.

so the floor actually cantilevers, past the foundation, and the tank will be sitting directly above this wall, or foundation?

Yes. So, if you were to view the flooring from the basement, a few of the joist sit directly over the foundation wall and the other 2 or 3 sit on a 2x4 wall.

I am also planning a 180 and am trying to figure out how to support my floor. The dt which is 2by6 will sit pretty much smack dab in the center of my house. The basement is unfinished and the tank will be sitting over maybe 3 joists which run paralelle with the tank. So I was thinking of adding 4 posts from joist to floor. But I can't get ahold of I beams. So will some 6x6 between the joists with the posts under the 6x6 and then more 6x6 along the floor running opposite the 6x6 on the top. Will this work?
