Hey all.

Finally conducted my transfer to my big boy tank this morning.

All was going well until a Rock with a hammer and a devils hand on it fell in two, god knows why, it was a solid rock.

Anyway the torch is a gonner, never mind s@&t happens eh?

Now I’ve spent days matching the salinity and the temps as much as I possibly could, however because of the rock breakage and it popping one of the seals on the old tank, I had to just bomb the devils hand straight in. Not ideal I know. Now he’s gone greeninsh and super floppy! The weird thing is that a colony of zoas that’s never really taken off in the old tank are opening.

Question is, are devils hands as bomb proof as everyone says?

Also off of the back of that should I be worried about the DH?

Cheers

If you did a tank transfer only this morning, then corals might be upset for a day or 2, its normal.

Do you have a pic of the devils hand?

You can easily frag leathers, even a tiny little piece will regrow over time. Depending how bad its damaged, you can clip a healthy frag and get it growing again.

Unfortunately though LOC it was a hammer that bit the biggy, rock fell straight down and snapped it off at the foot.

Looks like it’s just sulking. Leathers are great at sulking. I have a pink finger leather that turned a dull grey and shriveled up and wilted for nearly 2 weeks before it finally stood back up colored in. Just give it good flow to slough off the mucus and decent light.
