I have a couple questions I need help with.

I just added a new wave maker to my fuel 13.5 gallon tank as I was using a another one that was significantly weaker. This new one has four modes and on all settings. I’ve noticed it looks like too much flow and I can’t really seem to find somewhere to place my goni, due to too much flow.

I need a wave maker that’s strong like this so that Detritus doesn’t build up as that’s what I was dealing with previously. So down below here are some photos and videos of the Coral and how the flow is affecting them currently.

My solution to this problem was going to be adding some more rock to hopefully direct the flow in different directions, but still get the result of having a strong powerhead. With that I was curious how I can clean this green hair algae off the rocks while keeping the beneficial bacteria alive. While also trying to figure out a good method to rock stack and create a different Aquascape to redirect flow.

I could really use some recommend recommendations for anyone who has dealt with this before.

That does not look like too much flow to me.

Green hair algae can be manually removed, or you can introduce a mexican turbo snail or two, and/or some ceriths, and or a lawn mower blenny.

Okay sounds good. I don’t really want to add more rock. My Goni won’t open like he was before ever since the new flow. Maybe I should give it a few days? And I’m going to add a lawnmower Benny

Sadly I'm not a goni expert, yet. They have been either finicky in my tank, or abused by other tank mates. I'm looking to get a couple new ones and see how they go.

But critters don't like change, and maybe that's all that's irritated it, and it might need a few days to come back out.

Sounds good, it’s actually already opened back up! I have one more issue as my tank is still fairly new but cycled. I have some dinos/diatoms in the sand bed and stirring them around to make the sand white again. Doesn’t seem to work as they keep coming back. Should I add a conch or two? Or any other recommendations my tank is only 13.5 gallons.

For this we need more tank info. History, age, current water parameters.

Dino's really need to be ID'd via a microscope. It is more likely to be cyano or diatoms..... at least without more info.

Tank history it about 3 weeks old, started with cycled rock and a live sand. Here’s is the list of water parameters over the course. If you ask me it’s probably diatoms it just looks snotty sometimes.

Those numbers move a lot, and its a brand new tank. Siphoning, water changes, and a clean up crew.

I agree with BryanM, but I will add that not to sweat the rock. Brand new rock has to go through its phases and one of them is being covered in gunk. This will clear up eventually. But if it does develop long stringy hair algae - manually remove it.
As for flow, I’ve found it always better to have extra for when things get bigger than not having enough. Best of luck man

What test kits are you using? Some are definitely better than others, might explain the numbers creep.
