right now im currently deciding wether to upgrade my wavemaker or buy a second one, i have my gorgonian, torch, toadstool and 2 frags (1 large on back glass, 1 on small island) all “competing” for flow, i have the wavemaker as shown in picture pointed towards the gorgonian but also to the front of the tank, my torch recieves some flow but both gsp patches dont seem to, the one on the backwall comes out but ever since ive moved the wavemaker to accommodate my new toadstool the one on the island seems to shut, perhaps due to low/little flow, its not the placement of the wavemaker i havent moved it only changed the direction, should i upgrade or buy a second? only looking for a cheap alternative that will work nothing crazy thanks.

Personally I always add 2 powerheads if the tank is large enough, I find I get much better flow with 2 powerheads aimed at each other to bounce and create random flow patterns. With one powerhead I always struggle with a one way circular flow in the tank.

this is a 15 gallon, 60x30x30cm, and im assuming both wavemakers on opposite sides of the tank about the same height?, should i just go for the exact same hygger peashooter wavemaker or any cheap upgrades?

Hey! If you do get another wave maker, I would recommend putting it on the opposite side from the current one to create more of a back and forth wave motion.
15 gallon 60x30x30cm, should i just go for the same model wavemaker? or opt for a cheap upgrade? feel like the wavemaker i have now is pretty ugly 😂, dont know exact name but hygger peashooter wavemaker

Yes mine are all similar height so the flows bounce into each other. I like to position them near the top to also get some surface agitation.

As for the powerheads its up to you, in my own 15 gallon I use 2 x sicce voyagers 535 gph powerheads.

Yea thats tough to create that in a tank that size, I'd either do a similar size one on the other side(can be cheap) or look for one that makes "pulsing" wave movement if you replace it.

The torch will definately like the pulsing movement whether you create it or get a wave maker that does it for you.

yeah definitely, its currently got a small back and forth motion, just looking to up it possibly and help the gsp frags thrive aswell as the toadstool and gorgonian!

I am also a fan of two wavemakers... even in a small tank, assuming they are right sized, they can work well together to randomize flow, which seems to have made things a lot better in my tank.
