Fluval Evo 13.5 or Innovative Marine

Hey everyone! Just want peoples opinion and input on my future tank build. I have debating between these two tanks for a couple weeks now and have no idea which one I should go with. I just took down an Innovative Marine 25 Lagoon due to me moving, and I can’t say enough good things about their tanks. With that being said, the IM 14 Peninsulas dimensions just seem a little off to me and I don’t know if I really like it or not. I know of course that the quality of the tank will be far superior than the Fluval Evo 13.5, but I am drawn to that tanks dimensions more for some reason. If I went the Evo 13.5 route I would be doing all the necessary upgrades to make it reef ready and rockin. It would cost around the same when everything is said in done with both of these tanks, so which one would you prefer?

I guess if you are still here reading, I just want to hear everyone’s input or even photos if you have one of these tanks so I can finally make the right choice and get this build up and running! I appreciate all the feedback before hand and can’t wait to hear some of y’all’s thoughts soon. Thank you all

Id set the IM 25 backup, such a sweet tank. I have a 15g and really like it.

Have an Evo and an IM (and had another IM). My preference is for IM tanks, but the Evo is a fine tank once upgraded. No problem with it. If the dins are better for you, go for it. Also some nice premade lids for the Evo. I, personally, would cut some emergency overflows into the Evo like the latest IM tanks just for added safety.

IMs are nicer in my opinion, currently have a nice little 10g running right now but the 13.5 was my first tank. It was a nice tank but like everyone else says , if you upgrade certain things then it’ll be fine I also did scrapped off the honeycomb texture by the rim so it gave it more of a rimless tank feel.

I kinda agree with you on the dimension of the IM 14. I feel like they should have shorten the height and put them inches in the length and width. I have an evo, and my partner has an IM 10g cube. The IM is a more premium tank, the glass is better quality. To get wither really setup, it would be about the same amount of money in upgrade, for either tank. Minus the return pump for the IM, it's pretty nice. So for me I would probably go with the evo for the bigger footprint.
