PS copepods can probably help too since they eat phytoplankton. Same with feather sisters and scallops. However, you would need to supplement the latter two with phytoplankton once the bloom is gone.

They come with everything. It will be a bit unsightly for a few days with it in but you can use it only as needed

Ok, I let the water from the tank sit in a bucket a little bit. When I dumped the water out it was clear. Then this was at the bottom. It smells so gross so I guess this is what’s making the water brown. Would a big water change be ok for the fish if I do one?

In my opinion, a large water change is safe for fish, and kind of my "go to" for if/when the tank starts going downhill.

Yeah I really hope it will finally fix this problem. The tank looks worse again. Super brown.

Alright. I just noticed I used the stock pump for a while in the tank and once I replaced it I’ve been using it now for mixing the saltwater. I saw there’s a sponge in the stock pump. If the stuff that’s making my water brown is in that sponge in the pump could that put the bacteria into the new water?

Hey it’s been a while. The tank was doing good for a while I’ve been doing weekly water changes but it’s pretty gross again. One of the 2 damsels died. He was like a blue and yellow color and my other damsels whose white yellow and blue was just hanging around the other that died. Now that there’s only 1 damsel should I get another fish for him? He seems lonely

Sorry for the loss of your damsel. I wouldn't put another fish in there unless I knew why or how the first fish died. Don't know much about Damsels , other than they can be aggressive.

Any idea why the tank is back to being brown again?

Nope. When I went to feed my damsel today he was staying on the ground and breathing heavy. Honestly I just failed at this entire saltwater tank. I started with 5 damsels and now just seeing the 1 all alone and looking unhealthy just makes me annoyed at myself and I feel bad for all the damsels having to live in that brown tank that I couldn’t fix :/
