Fluval Flex 32.5 chipped glass

Good afternoon all!

I was set to meet up with a buyer from FB marketplace to purchase his reef setup Fluval flex 32.5 gallon aquarium. Included in this kit was the tank, stand, Fluval 1 ps1 protein skimmer, Fluval p2 auto feeder, heater, power head and Green Killing Machine in Tank UV clarifier. While he was loading the tank into his car to meet up to sell, the buyer chipped the bottom corner of the glass. He quickly fixed it epoxy glue and said the crack did not break the sealant line. He also filled this up with water and kept it filled over night and there was no leak. Is it a bad idea to buy this aquarium knowing it was chipped? Or if it didn’t break the sealant line is this fine?

Nope. The Flex 32.5 has some history of failing already and a chip pushes in into the "h*ll nope" column for me.

I like innovative marine. The smaller waterbox ones would be good too. Especially if you are looking for aio

You can get a brand new Fluval Flex on Amazon for $450 (I know, my wife got me one for Christmas). If I was buying again in this size, I would look at the 30 gallon from water box or the Tideline AIO from planet aquarium.

Tideline All-in-One aquariums. Made by a subsidiary of Planet aquariums. I just chipped the corner on my 21 gallon tonight so I guess I’m going to have to upgrade to their 47 gallon. My glass lid slid out of my hand and landed with precision on the corner. I’m a bit flustered right now but maybe there is a silver lining.
