to answer you question: i've never used that, so i have no experience with it. youtube may have plenty of "how-to" videos for that as already mentioned. :)

Canister filters can be picky. Make sure all your gaskets are in place, and everything is lining up correctly.

What seems to be the problem with it?
I have 2, both running for years with no issues.
