I found a starfish during my cycle. I think he hitchhiked on a live rock. Is he a friend or a foe? Since this tank is cycling, there is no food for him and lots of Ammonia. If he is a friend, is there anything I should do to help him.

Brittle star. Beneficial. Tiny piece of food, though if you have live rock there may be bits and pieces it can subsist on.

What was said above, micro brittle star. I’ll add that they mostly hide in the live rock. What I learned that was cool is that as long as the body is alive it will regrow legs!

Micro Brittle starfish...great for your tank...If you have real live rock, you may not need to feed it in the meantime, there is probably plenty for it to scavenge within the rock, especially being that small. But if not, a small bit of food won't hurt.
