Currently facing a dilemma with recently found mantis shrimp. Should I nuke my system with interceptor and kill all pods or leave the mantis shrimp be? I’m worried it will eventually break my rock structure apart from it digging burrows. I have not found any evidence of it eating my sps. I recently just got my Refugium going and it’s full of pods. Is running interceptor and killing off my pods worth it? Also worried for Dino’s making a comeback if I kill off the pods. What would you do?

No you should not…you will have months if not a year to remove. Florida mantis shrimp don’t get that big and are not hard to catch.
What about trying a trap as a first option?
Any suggestions for a trap? The mantis is probably 1-2” long I originally found him in the sump and thought he was fine down there but somehow he made it the display. Must’ve hitchhiked on recent kp aquatic live rock purchase so yes likely Florida mantis shrimp juv

I got one in some live rock. A cut water bottle, thawed shrimp and 30 minutes is all it took. He still resides in my anemone tank, unfortunately he thought clown fish were delicious.

Sounds like the bottle trick @troublemaker suggested would be the first thing to try. There is that "ultra life x Terminator" you can buy, never tried it, awesome name though. Just keep your fingers safe!

As others have said building a small trap works pretty well. A bottle or a tupperware with some holes and a piece of shrimp will have it within 24hrs. Don't want it getting big I almost lost a finger to one diving in the keys they can get 12"+ easily
