I hope that is all it is. Color just looked different to me.

May be a stupid question but what are bristle worms, what affect do they have on aquarium apart from eating zoas and I'm assuming other soft corals.

I don't know, man... saw your video earlier... this thing looks more predatory to me, especially in the way it moves. Doesn't move like a bristle worm.

ajones2n, here's a link to some basic info on bristleworms: ReefCorner | Bristle Worms

They're generally considered good, until you pick a frag up with one between your finger and the frag... they do hurt a bit and can cause allergic reactions. Ask me how I know. :)

+1 on the allergic reaction. I had blisters on a finger for almost 2 weeks from one.

I am still blaming the zoa issues on astrea stars.

Sounds kinda like the saltwater version of a saddleback caterpillar.

I was loosing zoas also, I would find asterinas on top of the polyps. I added a harlequin shrimp and manually removed all the starfish. I haven't lost a single polyp since.

I have been debating a harlequin but don't know about sustaining it after stars are gone. Could always put a chocolate chip in the sump.

Found a bigger one tonight.
