I have recently set up a 425 gallon FOWLR tank. It is currently cycling (a few weeks) and as I haven’t been running the chiller I have been able to see how the temperatures are without active cooling. It has sat on 82-84 degrees the whole time (its summer here in Australia right now). My question is if that is as hot as the tank gets can I get away without using the chiller. I had planned to run the tank at around 80-81 but if I dont have to run the chiller it would be a big bonus.

I used to keep fish over 30C before and they were always happy.

Run some fans over the sump, that should bring it down a few degrees, will go through more water but cheaper than chiller. Make sure you are using a skimmer as well to kee o2 levels high:)
