I have recently lost a few fish in my 45 cube due to some excessively hot days having to run the tank open top. I have an orange frogspawn, acan, and a bunch of sps coral. I was wondering if I could put a small foxface lo or onespot rabbitfish in the tank and take it out once it gets bigger. if not could I do a small tang?

A small Foxface... MAYBE. I personally wouldn't put one in a tank that small, as they enjoy lots of swimming. A tang is out of the question in my opinion... Even the small ones like to swim long & far. Unless you were planning to upgrade in the near future, you may want to place them on a wish list! I'm having to do that as we speak due to me only have a 46...
I feel your pain. : /

I would say no to a fox face for sure I am questioning one on my 80g they get 6-7in easy . I would say you could have a small tang species lots of people have them in a 60g so as long as you had a pretty open aquascape you should be ok just make sure the fish can swim around the whole entire tank 24x24 is fine for a tomini tang I have never seen one over 4-5in .

I wouldn't put any fish into a tank that you will have to remove once it gets bigger.

I agree thats why I said a tomini tang because they are small and that is only if you have a open aquascape .. My tank is 2 times the size of yours its 48x24 and a 7in foxface probably wouldn't be happy inside it so I don't want to have to relocate it .

I have a foxface rabbitfish in my 90g. Books say at least 75g. I am about to upgrade to a 180g to accomodate my fish that are outgrowing the 90g. I took the word of the LFS on what to get instead of doing my own research. Now that I know better, I wouldn't put a foxface in anything smaller than a 90g and even that is pushing it. When you are looking at fish to acquire, consider their adult size.
